g'day folks & a Happy New Year for 2024!
well, at the end of 2023 I became a grandma, both my daughters decided to have babies & we have a boy born in November to my DD2 & a lovely girl in December to my DD1; they both got what they wanted too
DS & his Partner came round for xmas day inviting old friends to join him, that he hadn't seen since he lived here, so it was fairly quiet here, way too hot to do much, they stayed for a few days & also arranged for me to go spend 3 days with the girls, which was lovely
I did finish my Easy Cable socks, have another 2 on the go
Joined in with a wonderful xmas mystery stocking KaL with Arne & Carlos over the December for Advent, brushing up on my fairisle skills, which was a lot of fun
still knitting my aran jumper but also started another 2 top down to learn;
also still enjoying the Hexagons, not quite finished the cushion i started but do have an array of hexies on the go
have almost got my carport finished, we also started on the fascia boards, once finished will be a lovely bright pink (totally sick of the gray look around the neighbourhood) then we'll get roofing iron to go around the house, maintenance is something i never learned & wish I had, never saw my parents doing any either but they rented ...
also have plans to start on the front veranda sometime this year too
which will be used as a catio
no news on the chicken front, managed to purchase 5 new ones last year, hope to keep new blood flowing as funds allow.
the orchard is proceeding very slowly, nothing seems to want to grow around here but will persevere with it, am also investing in raised beds for the trees so no one mows over them, this hopefully will help them grow better
well, that's it from me, am totally addicted to YouTube renos at the moment so writing in here is pretty much benched but will try to keep updates in
hope you are all warm /cool in your neck of the world
thanx for visiting
Congratulations on being a grandma. It is very interesting seeing our legacy.
ReplyDeleteMy cottage is pink, too. I am impressed with all the knitting you are doing. I can't seem to get back into it, although I wear everything religiously. Socks are so therapeutic.
