Tassie in a Flash

it's been awhile since i've been here

been to tassie & back (in February). a week just isn't long enough, even though i was happy to be home again. there was so much to see & do down in tas, my sister had put so many venues in, that some are just a blur ...
botanical gardens, Unzoo, Port Arthur & ghost tour, this was done over 2 days,  Female Factory, brewery, Tahune AirWalk, just to name a few, think we had 2 or 3 places in a day?

the weather stayed perfect the whole time we were down there, rained on the sunday before we came home.
we ate apples off trees on the side of the road, the flavour was insane! her backyard had ripe nectarines & yellow sweet plums to pick & eat & no fear of fruit fly! wish i could grow stone fruits.
am still waiting on photos from my eldest but do have a few i can share in the meantime. my phone camera was very temperamental & a lot of photos i took were just a black screen.

enjoying lavender icecream
behind bars

made it to the top of the Shot Tower

Mount Wellington

Bishops cottage & then later the post office

the cathedral Port Arthur

Trentham Cottage

this is all that i'll put here for the moment, we had a wonderful time in Tassie & will have to do it again.

hope everyone is safe & well

thanx for visiting

  3. Oh, Tasmania is so beautiful Selina. I hope you will get to go again and see even more of it. I love that you can be walking on a pristine beach one day and in a tall, quiet forest the next. One of my favourite places is Cradle Mountain, the place my young boy first saw snow and wombats and button grass! Port Arthur too...the way the light hits the sandstone, imagining what it must've been like to be a convict in such a remote, hard and yet stunningly beautiful place. Thank you for sharing your photos, what a joy!

  4. Thanks for the photos Selina. I was born and grew up in Tassie and moved to the mainland when I was 24, so I always enjoy a good Tassie photo. We were there in February also and yes, the weather was terrific. I especially loved the Tahune Airwalk which was a first for me. When I was a kid we would picnic at Port Arthur and you could just roam around it for free!

  5. Thank you for the comment on my blog about my pillows! Good advice on the closing in the back. I think flaps would be the easiest, especially with the thick materials I am using! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

  7. Hi Selina,
Just found your blog and I am so sorry it has taken me so long, I tend to write, answer comments and then get offline and get back to jobs here on the farm...But I hope to start taking more time to connect with others.

  10. hubby and I talk about taking a holiday down to Tassie with the kids, I must admit the cold puts me off, but I did visit about 15 years ago and from what I remember it was beautiful. You sure look liked you had a great time!
