i stand there just staring at it, with a wave of emotions welling up but still just standing there staring at the broken teapot
it was a beaut little 2 cup pot |
finally got myself out of the stupor & went grabbed the dustpan & broom & swept it up then piled it neatly & took this shot, thinking that i didn't want to throw it away, so...
i went looking for more teapots to replace it with & found these two
these were brought out & washed |
i even washed up the broken pieces thinking i can find a use for them, who knows, i've seen broken china used for all sorts of things, just can't think of any right at this moment.
hope you all have had a good week
thanx for visiting
Sorry about the teapot. You could make a nice stepping stone, a tray or maybe even a little side table with the teapot parts embedded into it. Use the handle part as a napkin ring if you make the tray or end table. Just a couple ideas for you. I have a box of old tiles waiting for me to do things with them.
ReplyDeleteyes, think i will put them away in a box too for the moment & thanx for the ideas
DeleteBummer! Maybe you could make a picture frame with the pieces or line the outside of a flower pot. I'm glad you were able to get another out of your stores.
ReplyDeletei collect teapots (or did) so have a few stashed away, picture frame, mmm, thanx
DeleteBummer alright!!! I hope you do find a use for the broken bits - mosaic something??

- Oh no. maybe keep the pieces to make a mosaic if the teapot had sentimental value. The replacements look lovely though.
ReplyDeleteno sentimental value, bought it at caboolture markets way back when the kids were still babies, i just liked the pattern on it. & it was a good pourer too.
Deletethe one with the silver stars is vintage, not sure of the other one, it was a nice little find in an op shop long ago.
thanx
Selina I had exactly one of those days on Thursday too! Nothing went right. I went do more work on my base map for my permaculture studies and discovered I had to start again because of I mistake I had made in the original. Later in the day I ironed my husbands uniform for work and later discovered it was his old uniform with the old company logo and name, that he now uses at home for yard work. So I had to go back and iron his current uniform. Bugga.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will find some use for the broken china. Mosaic stepping stones in the garden would look great though, wouldn't they.
yes, they would, just wish i'd saved all my other broken china too...
